Pancake day is known as many different things to different people. Traditionally, the day before Ash Wednesday and the start of lent, it is a religious was of having a cheat day before a diet of self-reflection.

Also known as 'Shrove Tuesday', shrove meaning 'absolve', pancake day is a time to forgive yourself of the past and contemplate living a better life moving forward.

The act of consuming and celebrating prior to fasting symbolises balance and self-care, it represents indulging yourself physically followed by indulging yourself mentally.
